Umm... uh. Uh... This will be a long list... On
which Josh Groban happens to be near the top of...
This song got me through SO many hard times...
when life just overwhelms you, whether it be
school, church, college, friends, family, fear,
depression, addictions, grades, teachers,
disappointment in love, people, God, yourself, or
even a crazy combination of all of the above, I've
found, this song, really takes away a lot of the
pain and brings new hope.
BOOKS
The Bible... Genesis, Psalms, Proverbs, James,
Luke, Song of Songs...
Anything by or about Miss Jane Austen. Classical
novels in general are my favorites... Jane Eyre is
definitely my weakness. And Pride and Prejudice...
MOVIES
My two great loves in the movie and literary world
are first and foremost anything related to the
1912 maritime tragedy and major motion picture
"Titanic," and secondly, but very importantly, all
the works and adaptations of Miss Jane Austen.
Movies that touch the heart, connect with you on
some level deep inside, or make you think more
about life, love, family, decisions, history, the
past... these are the types of films and stories
that I'm attracted to.
I, being innately female in nature, also enjoy
romantic comedies —Sandra Bullock and Meg Ryan
are my favorites in these categories, and I truly
do appreciate a well made drama. Art films
aren’t usually my thing, but there are a couple
which totally blew me away… “Joyoux Noel”
and “Whale Rider” being the foremost two. And,
of course, as my best friend Leslie can confirm, I
absolutely adore really dorky,
usually-kids-films-with-humor-nobody-ever-seems-to
-get, movies, that fall into a category I like to
call “Crazy Movies We Don’t Know Why We
Like.” I'll watch the OCCASIONAL
action-thriller, horror film, or
box-office-Hollywoodized hit. But overall, I love
romances, period films, dramas, and fantasy.

Hi...
I'm Jennifer.
But in case you were expecting a little more than
that, here goes:
I am…
A child of God. A daughter. A granddaughter. A
sister. A friend. A girlfriend. A writer. A
dreamer. A far-futured wife and mommy...
In word, I'm also...
Romantic. Obsessive. Silly. Random. Clever.
Strange. Beautiful. Me.
I am a firm believer in God, gravity, and
laughter.
To me, almost everything is amusing in some way,
shape, or form. There is a little bit (or
sometimes more) of the ridiculous in all of us, so
why not laugh about it? People just don’t
realize how dreary a day is without laughter.
Laugh at something silly. Laugh at something
stupid. Laugh in celebration. Laugh in your tears.
Laugh at yourself. Laugh at ME! Laugh at the way
life turns out. Laugh at your mistakes. But don't
let life deaden your heart or your spirit to
everything that's still beautiful and good and
true in the world.
So readers can understand and perhaps take me a
little more seriously… I'll share a bit more
personally about myself. I had a childhood
interrupted by many personal, family tragedies.
Most everyone in my family either died or moved
away and lost touch with me a long time ago. A few
years ago, I dealt with a heavy depression in my
life. That year, I began self-injuring (cutting)
myself to deal with my pain. It was my only
release from the bottled up anger, hatred,
sadness, and frustration I had inside me. People
today, however, are extremely wary of and
judgmental of this fairly new, rising and
addictive coping mechanism teenagers have found.
It wasn’t until I starting attending Venture
(Foothills Christian High) that I even allowed
myself to begin dealing with and eventually
stopping this destructive behavior. It was through
the people I met there, however, including my
teachers and friends, that I found new hope, new
strength, and new happiness. I rediscovered my joy
for my life. And I made a vow to myself to never
let go of it again. I believe everything happens
for a reason, and God has sheltered from so much
pain already. And I refuse to close my eyes to all
the beauty and all the life around me... Every
day, every moment… I know, that just being
alive, is a fantastic thing… a blessing that
should never be taken for granted.
TURN ON'S
Jesus Christ, the Lord of my life, my Savior, my
shelter, and the One who always catches me if I
fall...
Guys who act like gentlemen, (BLONDES-cough!Or
maybejustoneofthem-cough!) classic literature,
music -classical, opera, dance, pop, rock,
pop-rock, and some country, romance, crazy people,
laughter, period, historical, and British films,
the color burgundy, vintage clothing and jewelery,
plays, musicals, operas, museums, ships, people
who make me laugh, people who refuse to give up...
and flowers.
TURN OFF'S
The uncaring attitudes, those too wrapped up in
their own lives to recognize the pain and
suffering of others, deceit, arrogance,
manipulation, liars, racism, any jokes made about
the Holocaust, feminism, rude, annoying, and
disgusting "guests" at my under-appreciated and
under-paid job at the theater...
HOBBIES
Let's see... writing -everything. I write poems,
short stories, essays, reports, letters, even a
song or two... Writing is very therapeutic for me.
I've been doing it since I was a little girl. It's
one of my greatest passions in life. I plan on
becoming an author. One day you will see my name
in print... I also love drawing, dancing, reading,
and singing. My strongest interest has to be
history -WWII, the Victorian era, the Titanic,
England in general, the royal famlies, steamships,
classical composers, poets, and authors. My
day-to-day life involves working my butt off at a
movie theater with insane, fellow-employees, going
out with friends and my bf Kyle Perkins, attending
Common Ground and church weekly, and planning
amazing excursions to places I hardly ever
actually end up going to (Queen Mary, Old Town,
the beach, art museums, Disneyland, rollar-skating
rinks) ((When are we going somewhere besides
church, school, a local restaurant, our houses, or
the movies, Kyle, HUH??!?))
yeah everythings pretty fine right now. thats too bad you have a cold, hope you get better soon. i saw you at church the other day with your bf aka the guy under my comment:-)
